ring .This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of Both of these areas eventually come up near the RC airplane field eventually which is in the first area I described.
The single track sand trails offer a great way to spend an afternoon. Great place to ride.Nice ride, lots of trails. Some up and downhills, nothing really technical . OR. Left is a good way up, LOOK AT TREE ON RIGHT , marked T. W. the only marking I've ever seen.white trail was wet sand in places. White turns right here and joins red going up hill. Trailforks scans users ridelogs to determine the most popular direction each trail is ridden.
Colors indicate trail is missing specified detail.

If you had continued straight, instead of turning right, you enter this unused slope for about 3-5 minutes. How cool is that for New Jersey? Personally, the reason to go here is the mountain biking. This area is not used much and can have lots of downed trees, leves on the trails, etc but if you're like me and want to explore it's yet another Allaire option. Mountain biking at Allaire State Park is pure fun, once you forget about trying not to get lost. After the first 10 you get it. This area has something for everyone. However, if you like (relatively) flowy terrain with occasional rooty sections, don't mind sand (especially in the summer), and just want to pedal this is a good trail system. Drains well, something for everyone.
If you go on Trail Forks, another mtb Strava-like app, theres a trail called Coke off the Orange trail before the switchbacks.
If you made a left onto Hospital road, then rode up to the paved trail and made another left about a mile up on your right you'll see orange blazes which will take you across the road into a track of land that borders route 195.
Trailforks scans ridelogs to determine the last time a trail was ridden. Some of the sand was unpleasant, but most was OK.
Most can't even find it. There are obstacles like ladder bridges and jumps, but most are avoidable.
The first one actually runs UNDER the parkway and can be accessed by making a left onto Hospital Road (from the original locatoin placement I described) then riding across the river and then crossing Hosptial road so you're entering the area across Hospital road but now the river is to your right. Not too busy when I was there, but saw maybe 8 bikes in parking lot, but with so many trails, only passed people a couple times in a couple hours.
Not too difficult and good place to get going fast. This will take you to another park which I don't believe has riding, it's just a parking area then you'll see a baseball field, etc.
23 reviews of Allaire State Park "This is one of those parks that truly has something for everyone. Allaire State Park's trails were scheduled to close on December 1, 1998 due to excessive erosion and neglect of the trail system. During the summer you will have to pay to park and it gets crowded on the weekends.
There are not nearly as many trails over there, maybe 3 miles or so, but they are a lot of fun.

I really liked these trails (see "Endor" on multi-use map). Slightly overgrown, beware of ticks!Too much sand and too many chiggers in the summer.
You could spend hours on beginner trails. Most of it is singletrack, but some wider trails (the main/official/sandy trails)After reading all the reviews rather than reiterate what everyone has said, and is true (short of the review saying all sand, yes there is some but not on every trail) I want to give some layout for the beginner on where to ride the different sections. In summer, probably a different story. Through the past 15 years of riding there, my bike has changed but my love for Allaire remains strong.
You can expect packed sand trails with a few roots, no rock and relatively flat topography.
This area has what I find to be the most difficult sections, many are very steep, muddy and can be quite challenging depending on which direction you're riding them and how wet things have been.
The volunteers did a great job and the park looked amazing.
